Types of gourds:

Worick has recently decided to offer his one-of-a-kind gourd art for sale. Until now, he has created all of his artwork for show, not for public purchase. But due to publicity and high demand, he is finally making his gourd work available to the public. You can be sure that each gourd is unique; no two gourds are alike.

There are over 30 different types of gourds. Worick has worked extensively with dipper gourds, flat bushel basket gourds, bottle gourds, kettle gourds, martin house gourds, lump-in-the-neck gourds, birdhouse gourds, canteen gourds, jewelry gourds, and one that is called the penis-shield gourd (the male natives in New Guinea and many other underdeveloped countries wear them as their primary article of clothing!).

Below is a short sampling of Worick's Gourd work. Click on the images to view each of them in closer detail. With the approach of a perfectionist, Worick uses sketching, pyrography, and dyeing techniques to bring each gourd to life. As you will see, Worick's inspirations are very broad, ranging from majestic to bizarre. Click here to view the available Gourds for purchase.
